Students studied the work of abstract Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco. Students learned about primary and secondary colors as well as opposite and neighboring colors. Students learned how Orozco uses a computer to plan his work. Students learn how to draw round circles and straight lines in KidPix. They create their simplified imitation of the Samurai Tree series of art based on Orozco's interpretation of his work as similar to a mobile that turns.

Animals and Habitats: Students conducted research on an animal. In technology they experimented with switchzoo.com and learned Kid Pix paintbrushes and textures. Students created pictures and writing in Kid Pix.

This year students used both Excel and Google Spreadsheets. Their project was to collaborate using a shared Google spreadsheet. Teams chose their own topic of interest and conducted research to collect data. They produced both spreadsheet tables and the charts below.
