About the Project:

The Drake's Voyage project integrated Social Science, interpreting difficult text, Internet skills, and writing. Each report begins with an actual journal entry by Francis Pretty, Drake's "Gentleman at Arms". Students use their imaginations to complete the journal entry with their own story. Students had to use advanced search skills to understand the original journal entry. We used a web application I developed for kids, mylearningcenter.net, as the publishing medium.
